Amari Hua Hin Steps Up Promotions for Golf in Hua Hin

Amari Hua Hin Amateur Golf Week: 1-7 March 2015

Hua Hin, Thailand. 26 January 2015

In March 2015, Amari Hua Hin will sponsor the Amari Hua Hin Amateur Golf Week which will see budding golfers from around the world descend on the coastal town ready for a week packed with great golf and even better company.

“We are delighted to be teaming up with Golfasian for the Amari Hua Hin Amateur Golf Week.  Hua Hin has been voted by IAGTO as the number one golf destination in Asia and Australasia in 2014. We trust this event will help promote Hua Hin even further as a world-class golfing destination and Amari Hua Hin as the hotel of choice for golfers” said Christoph Leonhard, General Manager of the Amari Hua Hin.

“TAT has set a strategy to expand quality tourists by stepping up our promotions of the golf tourism market.  In times of a highly competitive market, TAT needs to continue to attract market segments which still have the desire and the means to travel: golf tourism is such segment.  TAT also closely cooperates with IAGTO (International Association of Golf Tour Operator) with its members of 1,600 companies, including a wide range of business partners who provide services for the golf tourism industry from more than 82 countries. Together, we try to find a way to disseminate information about the kingdom’s amazing golf facilities, expand our range of contacts and boost networking of golf operators worldwide, starting from Australia, Asia Pacific Region (China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Japan, Hong Kong, Vietnam), and Europe, as well as to new target regions such as Middle Eastern countries like Dubai, Qatar and United Arab Emirates due to the fact that golfers have high spending power.” said Orasa Awutkom,  Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand, Prachuap Khiri Khan Office

“Hua Hin is considered as one of the best golfing holiday destinations in Thailand offering internationally recognized and renowned courses, combined with great weather, good value for money and an array of post-game activities taking you all the way from the course to the spa and on to Thailand’s famous hospitality in the restaurants, markets and bars” said Ian Morgan, General Manager of GolfAsian – Hua Hin & Phuket.

The 7-day event will showcase the best golf courses in Hua Hin, including Black Mountain, voted one of the top 100 courses in the world outside the USA and Banyan Golf Club, which was voted best new course in Asia in 2009 by Asia Golf Monthly. The tournament will be played over four rounds and daily results will be announced and individual trophies given out each night during the social happy hour at the poolside at Amari Hua Hin.
